Position Summary
InspireNOLA Charter Schools is seeking passionate, talented, and dedicated individuals for the 21st Century Program. The 21st Century Site Coordinator will facilitate after-school, summer, and (occasional Saturday) programming for priority students, focusing on academic support, creative arts enrichment opportunities, and leadership development. Site Coordinators will report directly to the 21st Century Program Director and will train, supervise and support all site-based Literacy and Arts Instructors to ensure the 21st Century program meets and exceed the criteria outlined. We are pursuing candidates who are committed to the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of our students and who have a strong desire to continuously develop in their profession.
Position Qualifications & Competencies
• Belief in the mission and values of InspireNOLA;
• Prior experience in arts education in a PreK-12 school setting (preferred);
• Prior leadership experience or experience in program management in a PreK-12 school setting
• Current InspireNOLA staff member in good standing;
• Ability to train, support, and manage staff and students
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
• Ability to track data weekly and monthly for reporting
• Ability to work collaboratively with school team, families, and community members;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Be committed to high attendance and promptness
• Facilitate the implementation of a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns with campus-wide initiatives while developing students’ character and sense of community in the classroom
• Lead the development of a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
• Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with staff, students, and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify
• Provide program leadership for the 21st Century program staff and students
• Facilitate schedules for activities to assigned groups of students (literacy, arts education, arts enrichment, and other arts-related activities)
• Assist instructors in developing students' cognitive capacity, increasing academic skill development, and respect for learning
• Support and foster students' self-esteem and motivation through positive interaction
• Attend scheduled meetings with 21st CCLC Instructors and Project Director to coordinate program design, evaluation process, and parent engagement efforts
• Work closely with Instructors and Program Director to Organize the schedule of literacy and arts activities, as well as keep inventory and secure program supplies
• Abide by all InspireNOLA safety and security rules and procedures
• Perform other additional duties as specified.
Tentative Schedule
• September through May, Afterschool each day, Monday to Thursday, two hours each day
• Four weeks in June, each day Monday to Thursday, six hours each day
• Family Literacy Night, Family STEAM (STEM+Arts) Night, two hours one evening in Fall and two hours one evening in Spring
• Four hours one Saturday in Fall and four hours one Saturday in Spring
