Position Summary 
The Dean of Students is responsible for coaching the school staff in classroom management techniques, the design, implementation, and maintenance of the school-wide Positive Behavior Incentive System and providing real-time support for students with behavior needs.  Reporting to the school principal, the Dean of Students position is an all-encompassing behavioral support position.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop school-wide programs to reduce the rate and number of student disciplinary infractions.
Assure that no student enrolled in the in our school gains less than full advantage from his/her educational opportunities as a result of attendance problems. 
Interact with students and parents relative to attendance, tardiness, and behavior within the building and on the school grounds.
Enable each student, through safe and efficient transportation, to take full advantage of the complete range of curricular and extra-curricular activities offered. 
Keep accurate records of attendance and tardiness in compliance with the InspireNOLA policies and procedures.
Be highly visible around the building and grounds before and after school, during lunch periods, and while students are changing classes.
Supervise students and assist in the interpretation of school and InspireNOLA policies and procedures to students, parents, staff, and community.
Work with the community and government agencies on problems relating to substance abuse and truancy from school.
Supervise the collection of daily attendance reports from the classrooms.
Counsel students in matters of attendance and tardiness.
Oversee the students assigned to detention daily.

Position Qualifications 
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience with positive behavior support services and program management
The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, energetic, and dedicated to providing educational equity.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, managerial acumen, and great attention to detail are  essential.
Candidates should be problem-solvers who are responsive to feedback and welcome daily challenges.
Must be able to work with uncertainty and embrace constant change in technologies and methods.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and capacity to multi-task.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
Customer service orientation.

The Dean of Students reports to the Head of School.

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as employer retirement contribution, is included.
