Position Summary
A Content Specialist’s role is to provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of instructional programs. The Content Specialist acts on the belief that all professional/instructional staff can master and use exemplary practices. S/he supports professional and instructional staff with the goal of producing measurable growth in student achievement as well as recognizing individual differences in professional and instructional staff and differentiating practices accordingly.  The Content Specialist works as an advocate for students, teachers, and achievement. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership in the ongoing development, improvement, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, and student data management 
Organize and disseminate quality instructional methods, materials, and duties such as demonstration teaching, and team teaching, which will encourage and allow collaboration among staff members
Responsible for coaching teachers on instructional delivery and methods, to enhance instructional effectiveness
Responsible for managing student data systems
Assist in administration of scheduling quarterly interim assessments and standardized assessments
Disaggregate and analyze test data, and then assist in its interpretation and planning for school improvement  
Explore new ideas, planning their utilization by appropriate staff members, organize and develop content objectives with the inclusion of content into methods and strategies as related to TAP, and modeling these lessons for teachers
Plan and teach staff development activities for all staff in curriculum, learning environment, effective planning, benchmarks and assessments
Work with Master Teachers on consistent embedding of content into cluster
Keep abreast of and interpret to the staff, current research, curriculum development, and instructional practices 
Implement new and promising practices and/or programs 
Attend all state and network professional meetings and workshops
Employ excellent written and verbal communication skills in planning and running professional meetings and workshops
Develop strategies and physical growth plans that impact student academic growth
Monitor InspireNOLA Academic Framework in schools
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
Unquestioned integrity and commitment to InspireNOLA’s mission
Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree preferred
Louisiana Teacher Certification (required); Administrative certification (preferred)
Five or more years of proven successful teaching experience improving the outcomes and achievements of students
Experience in an administrative or leadership position strongly preferred
Knowledge of:

  • Principles of supervision and content evaluation
  •  Modern and complex practices of curriculum, program development, and administration
Compensation & Benefits 

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as TRSL, our employer retirement contribution, is included.
