Position Summary
The Grant Accountant is an integral member of the Finance team who will be responsible for performing accounting related tasks for InspireNOLA. The Grant Accountant is able to provide clear, concise information between the finance department, the Network Office, and school administration.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 
Perform accounting functions in accordance with InspireNOLA standard procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  This includes but is not limited to executing the following tasks:
Responsible for grant accounting functions, including review and preparation of budgets and amendments, preparation of grant reports and financial documentation maintenance
Prepare monthly grant claims for submission and pull supporting documentation including earnings statements, invoices, quotes, payments and cancelled checks
Monthly accruals of expected grant revenue
Provide consistent and clear guidance of grants and contracts in compliance with grant accounting processes and requirements
Oversee grant compliance and processes as it relates to grant accounting, ensure compliance with funding source and administrative guidelines
Prepare grant budget to actual reports
General accounting responsibilities including analyzing records for inconsistencies
Resolve inconsistencies and other problems with accounting ledgers
Process purchase requisitions verifying coding and source document backup
Process online orders for credit card purchases
Analyze and prepare monthly journal entries for various accruals as well as ensure that month end estimates and required journal entries are submitted to the Executive Director of Finance and uploaded on a timely basis
Assist with annual external audits as directed by the Executive Director of Finance
Other accounting related duties as assigned

Qualifications
Belief in the mission and values of InspireNOLA
Bachelor’s in Accounting (required)
Two or more years of previous work in the field of accounting
Grant accounting experience (preferred)
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of information required
Strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate multiple priorities required
Strong communication skills
Advanced level knowledge of Excel

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as TRSL, our employer retirement contribution, is included.
