Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administrating and supporting InspireNOLA’s Human Resources department. The Generalist is a key component of the Human Resources team as they will be one of the main points of contact for newly hired employees and schools, and are responsible for successful execution of all aspects of the hiring and exiting processes for all InspireNOLA staff. In addition, they will serve as the liaison between InspireNOLA employees and vendors as it pertains to matters related to the benefits program. The Generalist also ensures that InspireNOLA is compliant with all federal, state and local employment and benefit regulations, and maintains accurate records for all InspireNOLA employees. Lastly, the Generalist works to support the various initiatives led by the Human Resources team and the larger InspireNOLA family.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manages the new hire onboarding process
o Prepares salary quotes and offer letters for potential new hires
o Main point of contact throughout the onboarding process, including distribution and collection/verification of paperwork and I-9 identification documents
o Ensures all employees have completed criminal background checks prior to first day of employment
o Completes audits on background checks and I-9 documents to ensure proper security for active and terminated employees
o Works with schools and finance team to process requisitions for new hires and exiting employees
o Reports new hires to Louisiana Workforce Commission
Manages teacher certification records
o Ensures information is accurate and up-to-date with Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE)
o Processes certification applications and tracks certification expirations dates
o InspireNOLA's liaison to the LDOE certification office
Personnel Records
o Works with the finance team to process changes in employee salary, employment statuses, semi-monthly and hourly rates, and employee names
o Supports annual PEP reporting and auditing processes as needed
o Maintains organized and updated personnel files for current and former employees
o Maintains accurate records of all federal forms and employee documentation
Manages off-boarding process
o Manages communication with exiting employees
o Meets with all exiting employees to share the off-boarding process
Manages employee benefits and medical leave administration
o Administers InspireNOLA’s employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, life insurance, AD&D, Flexible Spending and Dependent Care Account, and state retirement systems
o Processes enrollments and terminations for all insurance carriers
o Monthly reconciliation of all insurance accounts to assure accurate billing.
o Manage the open enrollment process for all InspireNOLA employees
o Processes annual tax filings for all employees
o Processes medical leave requests for FMLA, maternity, short-term, long-term disability cases
o Manage Paid Time Off (PTO) tracking in ADP, in collaboration with Payroll Department
o Processes tuition reimbursement applications and manages reimbursement process

Position Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is highly preferred.
Outstanding organizational skills, with extraordinary attention to detail. 
Ability to be flexible and entrepreneurial in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with multiple priorities.
Two or more years of prior experience working in a human resources or employee relations field.
Maintains strong attention to detail and high work standards in support of accurate, flawless delivery for the staff members supported by the Human Resources team.
Enjoys being part of a team and consistently operates with a customer-service oriented mindset.
Demonstrates a consistent ability to work efficiently, and can effectively organize, plan, and prioritize tasks (daily/weekly/long-term).
Proficiency managing data accurately within a large human resources system. Experience with ADP highly preferred.
Experience with Louisiana state retirement systems is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook is required.
