Position Summary
The Network Support Manager is responsible for the support and upkeep of the Network’s computer network and telecommunication systems up to date and running smoothly. This includes the ability to effectively work and communicate with all Network staff. The role requires constant analyzing, monitoring, recordkeeping, and the ability to creatively solve problems while keeping a focus on ways to improve and provide a solid technological learning environment. In addition, it is important to adhere to all required laws, as well as Network policies and procedures.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Installs computer equipment, network (client and server) software, and hardware on a variety of platforms (e.g. service packs, application software, operating software, hardware upgrades, etc.) for the purpose of upgrading and maintaining equipment and software.  
Administer systems and servers related to Network LAN and WAN (e.g. security, e-mail system, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, filtering, proxies, backups, etc.) for the purpose of optimizing throughput, securing data, overseeing backup and recovery capabilities, and ensuring availability of services to authorized users.
Assess network malfunctions for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer and network operations and recommending purchases in support of network, personnel, and curriculum.
Lead the development and training of the School-Based Technology Coordinators.
Manage IT financial budget including development and monitoring of annual budget, adherence to Network policies and procedures on the acquisition of goods, materials, equipment, and leases, and working with the Executive Director of Site Services on long-term budget planning.
Coordinate with outside vendors, including E-Rate contracts, to manage the Network’s system including Internet Access, WAN, VOIP, Managed Internal Analog, telephone services, broadband services, servers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
Responsible for maintaining equipment replacement cycle records and acquisition of new equipment/leases in accordance with Network Procurement Policies.  Procures equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining the availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date inventory of technology equipment.
Develop/maintain the user operations manuals (documentation) and create additional or supplemental documentation as necessary.

Position Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
Formal training and experience in a user support capacity is preferred
Two or more years of extensive experience with network operating systems and applications.
Experience in a school district and/or charter management organization preferred.
Experience with E-Rate contracting preferred.
