Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is an integral member of the Finance team who will be responsible for performing accounting-related tasks for InspireNOLA. The Staff Accountant is able to provide clear, concise information between the finance department, the Network Office, and the school administration.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform accounting functions in accordance with InspireNOLA standard procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This includes but is not limited to executing the following tasks:
• Manage the accounts payable cycle
• Send invoices to Concur to be scanned into Concur for processing
• Code and process invoices in Concur
• Reconcile various invoices
• Gather W9s for new vendors
• Handle vendor disputes and invoice discrepancies
• Distribute and mail accounts payable checks
• Order checks
• Monitor encumbrances and close POs related to invoices
• Manage credit card expense reports in Concur and code the expenses
• Search for cleared checks in the online banking system
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts related to accounts payable
• Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable
• Allocate background check expenses
• Prepare annual 1099s
• Review payroll prior to submittal
• Assist with annual external audits as directed by the Executive Director of Finance
• Other accounting-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Belief in the mission and values of InspireNOLA
• High School Diploma
• Two or more years of previous work in the field of accounting
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of information required
• Strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate multiple priorities required
• Strong communication skills
• Basic level knowledge of Excel

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as TRSL, our employee retirement contribution, is included.
