Dear InspireNOLA Parents and Guardians,

The safety of our students and our staff is our number one priority. We’ve listened to your concerns, and recognize the spike in the number of positive Covid-19 cases in New Orleans in recent weeks. Therefore, along with NOLA Public Schools, InspireNOLA has made the decision to begin the 2020-2021 school year with ALL students in distance learning only. We anticipate that distance learning only will occur until Labor Day, and then we hope to transition to a model that includes at least partial in-person instruction.

Instruction will begin with small group orientations starting Monday, August 3. Your school will provide all details for orientations and daily learning schedules. For distance learning, classes will be taught via Google Classrooms. Seat time and attendance is still mandatory, so it is important that your child be present and engaged for each class. Assignments will still be due, and grades will be given.

While we are planning for some in-person instruction to begin after Labor Day, we will continue to monitor the situation and follow the guidance and guidelines offered from the Centers for Disease Control, Louisiana Department of Health, Louisiana Department of Education, and New Orleans Public Schools to ensure it is safe to do so. When we move to in-person instruction, parents will still have the choice of continuing 100% distance learning for their children.

We will continue to inform you of new developments as they happen. You can also view updates by visiting, and on social media via Facebook (, Twitter (, and Instagram ( If you have any questions or concern, please contact your school leader.

Stay safe and healthy,

Jamar McKneely
