Position Summary:
InspireNOLA Charter Schools is seeking a Social Media Manager to use their creativity and communications knowledge to support the growth and development of InspireNOLA Charter Schools’ communications, public relations, social media, and enhance its overall digital presence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Belief in the mission and values of InspireNOLA Charter Schools
● Support the Communications Team with all things related to social media, internal and external communications, and public relations
● Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Strategic Communications creation of social media content (photography, videography, graphic design, and creative writing)
● Work with the Senior Manager of Strategic Communications develop and implement a long-term strategic plan for the three main social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram)
● Assist with day-to-day social media management tasks including but not limited to weekly copywriting for social media posts; brainstorming ideas to engage stakeholders; strategic planning for special events and campaigns throughout
the school year
● Assist with the pre- and post-production of digital projects including videos
and photo shoots
• Responsible for community management of InspireNOLA social media accounts
● Assist in maintenance of the InspireNOLA Website
● Willingness to occasionally work non-standard hours (weekends and evenings)
● Other duties as needed and as assigned
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in communications or marketing, required (or equivalent work experience)
● 2-4 years of post-college work experience in published social media and/or digital marketing campaigns
● High level understanding of social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
● Experience using social media scheduling services
● Experience using graphic design tools (such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite)
● Photography, video editing, and/or graphic design skills (required)
● Solid creative writing skills
● Team player but can also work independently
● Proven history of being proactive and a self-starter
● Willingness to receive and respond to feedback
● Reliable transportation and ability to travel to InspireNOLA’s offices in Algiers, InspireNOLA schools throughout New Orleans, and event locations
Compensation & Benefits
Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as employer retirement contribution, is included.
