InspireNOLA Family Newsletter - August 2023

Welcome to a new school year, InspireNOLA families! We are off to a great start, and I speak for all our teachers and staff when I say, we are excited to have our scholars back in the classroom.

As many of you may know, it’s our Inspire10 year - a celebration of ten years of excellence in educating the children of New Orleans - your children. We’re taking everything up a notch as we move into a milestone school year, and we cannot do that without you

It is vitally important for your scholars to be in school every day, all day, so our teachers can provide them with the boldest and bright education they deserve.

Let’s keep this energy going all school year!

Inspired,  Jamar McKneely CEO, InspireNOLA Charter Schools

NOLA-PS Advisory Councils

The Parent Advisory Council is the district’s central mechanism for ensuring parents are well informed about NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) related matters and have the opportunity to help develop District-level programming and policy. They will be meeting with me and other district staff quarterly during the school year to discuss a variety of topics, share information, and broaden their understanding of school-related issues.

There are two advisory councils for students to join: Student Wellness Council and Jr. Communicators. Student Advisories will be comprised of student ambassadors from grades 8-12 serving as the voice of their respective student bodies and schools. Participants will engage in conversations related to rigorous and diverse academic experiences, robust extracurricular opportunities, comprehensive student support services, fair and consistent school culture and discipline, authentic platforms for student voice and representation, technology, college and career readiness, student leadership, and community outreach.
