Position Summary 

InspireNOLA is currently seeking a smart and motivated Data & Business Manager who can bring strong problem-solving and analytical skills to a leading charter management organization. The Data & Business Manager will play a critical role in ensuring all student information systems are accurate and up-to-date, and with supporting all users (leaders, staff, and parents) with their access to and utilization of data systems. Additionally, the Data & Business Manager manages the school financial and business transactions. 

Position Qualifications & Competencies 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 
  • Ability to switch flexibly between extreme detail orientation and high-level strategic vision to deliver accurate and high-quality products;
  • Collaborative mindset and strong written and oral communication skills; 
  • Resilience, strong work ethic and outcomes orientation—demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities under stress and follow through to deliver unfailing excellence, despite tight or unexpected deadlines and circumstances;
  • Experience manipulating large datasets and working with raw data preferred. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

Data Input & Reporting 

  • Maintains and utilizes the computerized Student Information System (SIS) records;

  • Oversees cyclical compliance reporting to the State of Louisiana and other high stakes reporting to key entities;

  • Understands the underlying database model of PowerSchool to facilitate reporting and integrations;

  • Anticipates, identifies, and resolves various technology obstacles to ensure success of overall data collection and analysis;

  • Create and maintain campus student records, which include the updating and maintenance of both hard copy and online student records;

  • Ensure proper dissemination of records to campuses, other school districts, central office, and court ordered requests are accurate and within time frame allotted; 

  • Responsible for processing new student enrollments, student transfers, student withdrawals, and student graduation; 

  • Develop and prepare customized reports as needed; 

  • Prepare and maintain computer records of student attendance. Ensure attendance records are accurate so that an audit trail exists at all time;  

  • Maintain computer records of student’s scores on state mandated tests and standardized tests; 

  • Maintains, generates, and distributes student demographic, scheduling, and grading information; 

  • Print and distribute report cards and progress reports with numeric grade calculations according to the network calendar; 

  • Maintain an organized records room with a complete and orderly cumulative folder for all current and previous students.  
  • Oversee cumulative folder updates at the end of each school year. 

Financial Management 

  • Responsible for receiving and accurately recording school finances that originate from student activities; 
  • Responsible for placing all school orders and the purchasing/requisition process;
  • Reconcile bank accounts with journal entries;
  • Maintain accurate records of inventories for supplies, equipment and textbooks;
  • Receive orders and distribute to school personnel;
  • Process payments for student activities;
  • Assists school clerical staff as required;
  • Responsible for ensuring that financial information and data is provided; that it is timely, comprehensive, and accurate and it enables the school to plan and take appropriate management action;
  • Responsible for the financial management of any new major projects;
  • Ensure that the school meets all statutory and legal requirements concerning information and financial management, and to liaise with external auditors and other external organizations;
  • Recommend to the Principal any internal controls needed to assure the fiscal integrity of school finances, and monitor compliance with approved controls;
  • Performs other duties that may be required.
