Position Summary
The Senior Human Resources Manager will join InspireNOLA’s Human Capital Leadership Team during an exciting phase of growth. With the Executive Director of Human Capital and the Senior Talent Manager, the Senior Human Resources Manager will ensure all potential, current, and former employees are receiving the highest level of care, responsiveness, and overall exceptional customer service. 

This is a new position that will be responsible for managing and developing the Human Resources Team. Therefore, this individual will embrace continuous improvement and innovation, is able to hold a short-, mid-, and long-term lens as needed, can flex between hands on work and getting results through others when suited to best support the team, and relishes the challenge of finding ways to provide better, more efficient support to employees. 

The ideal candidate has expertise in Human Resources, a strong track record of effective people management and team leadership, and employee relations management, and is deeply committed to InspireNOLA’s mission. 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Employee Relations, Certification, & Payroll
o Provide guidance, thought partnership and oversight to the Human Resources Team, in providing outstanding, timely day-to-day support for employees with inquiries regarding benefits, pay and employment questions
o In collaboration with the Executive Director of Human Capital and Senior Manager or Talent, oversee employee teacher certification, assisting with initial and renewal application and accurate tracking of certification status 
o Oversee staff communication on HR-related topics including workshops and newsletters to employees
o With the Executive Director of Human Capital manage employee relations and performance concerns 

Staffing, Orientation + Onboarding
o Collaborate with the Executive Director of Human Capital, the Senior Talent Manager, and School Leaders during the hiring process to ensure all vacancies are filled with the highest quality candidate 
o Liaise with the Senior Talent Manager on all components of the offer, cultivation, and on-boarding process. 
o Provide continuous staffing updates to hiring managers as needed
o Manage the Human Resources Team to ensure policies and systems are in place to effect a seamless new hire onboarding including all new-hire-paperwork/documentation and welcome package/communication
o Ensure all background checks and employment clearances required and prudent for public education staff

Compliance 
o Assist with annual mandated audits to ensure no findings
o Develops, integrates, and manages a system to comply with mandatory state reporting 
o Manage and track all labor and employment compliance issues (wage and hour law compliance, employee records, etc.) working closely with the HR team 
o Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organizational compliance
o Communicates changes in InspireNOLA employee policies and procedures and ensures adherence
o Member of the InspireNOLA Title IX investigative team 
o Managing updates to the employee handbook and communicate any changes regarding policies and procedures and ensure compliance is followed 

Performance Management
o Create annual calendar and scope of InspireNOLA’s annual performance management process 
o Train and more with InspireNOLA leadership on execution of performance management tools and systems 
o Manage performance management data each cycle and report trends to Executive Director of Human Capital, Chiefs, and school leadership teams  

Position Qualifications & Competencies
Belief in the mission and values of InspireNOLA
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience managing a Human Resources team or processes for an organization 
Experience in the education, charter environment (strongly preferred)
Experience with ADP and Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana (strongly preferred)
Track record of outstanding customer service
High degree of professionalism and confidentiality with personnel matters 
Ability manage multiple competing priorities and complex projects in a fast-paced environment 
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Team player with strong interpersonal skills 
Exceptional communication skills

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as TRSL, our employer retirement contribution, is included.
